Letters from Wilfrid Laurier to Zoé Lafontaine/Laurier

Library and Archives Canada has 61 pages of letters that Wilfrid Laurier, Canada’s seventh prime minister and the first who was French-Canadian, wrote to his sweetheart and then wife Zoé Laurier (née Lafontaine). These letters, which date from 1863 to 1890, begin in the early years of their relationship, before they were married and well before Laurier became prime minister. For this challenge, step behind the closed doors of the future prime minister’s office and glimpse his personality and private life, and his relationship with Zoé Lafontaine/Laurier.
